Wake Me Up

It's worrying when three minutes in to this 11-minute piece you find yourself wishing that they had edited it back into something snappier, but sadly this is just what happens. This is a tale of a heist gone bad - things are stolen but someone gets hurt - that takes forever to more or less stand still.

There is little in the way of plot development, the characters motives are hardly even hinted at and why they are choosing to hold up a store unclear. There is some attempt to portray one of the central characters as a tortured soul - but it never really comes off. The soundtrack is intrusive and acting less than convincing all of which leaves the viewer with little to find endearing.

The Wake Me Up of the title is unclear - unless it is a request by audience members who drop off during the course of this rather dull short.
